Germantec: Agile, Self-Managed, and Ultra-Fast B2B Browsing

Germantec Costa Rica is a leading distributor and industry leader in the professional and industrial cleaning sector, specializing in high-end solutions. The company represents top-tier global brands such as Kärcher, iRobot, Victory Innovations, Campbell Hausfeld, Trapp, Filmop, and Nutribullet, successfully serving both end consumers (B2C) and demanding corporate and institutional segments (B2B) through its e-commerce platform and network of brick-and-mortar stores. To consolidate its leadership in the corporate sector—where it sells complex machinery such as pressure washers, sweepers, and industrial vacuum cleaners—Germantec needed a digital ecosystem that spoke the language of its professional clients. Through its “Evolutive Support” service, Known Online customized the platform to design an exclusive, agile, and high-conversion environment.

The Challenge: Separating Industrial Complexity from the Retail (B2C) Flow

Germantec needed to create a specialized digital ecosystem for its professional and corporate B2B audience, separating that experience from the standard flow B2C of its online store. The challenge was to design a space with a technical and visual focus that would allow complex solutions to be presented in a clear, organized, and compelling way.

From the outset, the project was to begin with the flagship brand Kärcher Professional, ensuring that the navigation path would facilitate seamless exploration of industrial equipment. At the same time, the solution was to lay the groundwork for future evolution, with a structure designed to incorporate new professional brands without having to start development from scratch.

The Solution: Custom Front-End Architecture and Autonomy in VTEX IO (Evolving Support Service)

Known Online developed a professional landing page specifically for the VTEX IO, initially focused on the Kärcher Professional line and built with a scalable architecture to accommodate future expansions. The proposal included visual and catalog segmentation, a self-managed structure, and a technical foundation designed to support high-performing digital advertising campaigns.

The Evolutive Support project was based on three strategic pillars:

1. Modular development and a mobile-first approach: A modern architecturewas designed using native VTEX IO components (such as flex-layout and slider-layout). This ensured a seamless user experience, tailored to the behavior of corporate buyers who browse and make decisions on mobile devices.

2. Self-management via the CMS Site Editor: To give the Germantec team complete independence, the module was linked to property schemas in the CMS. This allows the client to change banners, update text, and rotate the catalog independently and in real time. In addition, specific search contexts with advanced filters were configured to display exclusively Kärcher Professional’s industrial products.

3. Extreme Technical Performance: We implemented VTEX IO’s native Server-Side Rendering (SSR) combined with CSS Modules, achieving ultra-fast loading times. This combination struck a balance between operational flexibility, technical efficiency, and a presentation suitable for a professional audience that requires accurate information and immediate access to specialized solutions.

The Results: Zero Corporate Friction and Business Acceleration

The project succeeded in creating a differentiated browsing experience that allows professional buyers to quickly find Kärcher industrial equipment without the friction typical of B2C processes. This helped better tailor the value proposition to an audience with more specific needs and higher expectations in terms of clarity and speed.

The modular, self-managed structure eliminated the need to rely on the development team for daily updates to the catalog, banners, and content. At the same time, time-to-market was significantly accelerated by building a solid, scalable foundation, ready to incorporate new professional brands in the future.

Performance optimization also delivered a key benefit: ultra-fast load times, a critical factor for the success of the client’s digital advertising campaigns. Overall, the solution strengthened Germantec’s ability to operate with greater business agility, internal efficiency, and a focus on a high-value segment.

This case study illustrates how a well-designed digital solution can transform an e-commerce ecosystem into a more precise, scalable sales tool that is aligned with business objectives. In contexts where B2C and B2B audiences coexist, separating the experience and optimizing it for each segment is no longer an optional improvement, but a competitive advantage.

With this project, Known Online has established itself as a strategic partner for companies in the professional services and distribution sector that need to evolve their digital presence with technical expertise, a business-oriented approach, and a deep understanding of their industry’s demands.
