We share the ETpay success story where we integrated the payment method to the VTEX e-commerce technology so that they can communicate with each other and automate processes.
About ETpay
ETpay is a means of payment by electronic transfer that allows you to pay in a simple, intuitive and secure way.
What did ETPay need?
ETpay had the need to integrate the payment method to the VTEX e-commerce technology, so that any VTEX store in Chile can easily place the payment method and charge through bank transfer.
What was the solution provided by Known Online?
The proposal by the Known Online team contemplated the incorporation of ETpay as an active payment method in VTEX through the Payment Provider Protocol Configuration. After the installation of the Application in VTEX and its subsequent QA evaluation, an SDK was developed and its associated environment was configured.
The development involved Front End & Back End with transaction creation and confirmation. Finally, the installation and configuration was performed in AWS environment provided by VTEX for ETpay in order to be able to update the payment status in OMS.
The implementation replicated the current processes of Transbank, Mercadopago, PayU, PayPal and SafetyPay in Chile. The “Manual de Integración Técnica de Merchant en ETpay” was used as a base documentation.
Actions performed
The development process involved the following tasks:
Provider Payment Protocol configuration:
- Analysis and survey of information.
- Supplier Registration – Commercial Phase.
- Protocol implementation.

- Testing.
Flows developed and automated with the middleware created:
- Analysis and survey of information.
- Framework installation and configuration.
- Workflow implementation.
- Create a session.
- Ordering process.
- Order closing.
- Order status update.
