Levis and Furzai’s Full Commerce exit success story: “The migration was super positive”.

We share how was the Full Commerce exit of Levis ARG, Levis UY and Furzai by Known Online.

Having a Full Commerce partner capable of operating the end-to-end of a business with a comprehensive vision is an option that many companies seek. However, this means that in many key areas such as digital marketing, logistics or integrations, they cannot have full control when making decisions. That is why at Known Online we offer the following service Full Commerce Bridge. In a few words, we want to be a bridge between 100% dependence on Full Commerce to generate internal operation capabilities that allow the sustainability of the project in a profitable way in the long term. We offer our clients the option to enter and maintain the ecommerce operation partially or totally, according to the needs of each company.

Customer need: Exit Full Commerce

Levis ARG, Levis UY and Furzai are recognized clothing brands from the same business group that met Known Online, through a referral from partner VTEX, in March 2021 when they were looking to exit Full Commerce.

We called VTEX, asked for references from technology agencies to face the Full Commerce exit project, we did several interviews and we chose Known Online”, said Commercial Manager Ariel Crupnik. He also explained in detail the reason for the search:

“We were with a Full Commerce business model and wanted to go out to an Inhouse Management business model and not be tied to a Revenue Share model. We wanted to have a different model where we could manage different points of ecommerce. Fundamentally we refer to the pillars such as digital marketing, logistics, integrations with different information systems and choose customer service. We wanted to have control over those pillars and not leave it in the hands of a full commerce agency where we couldn’t have that much say in the decision making.”

The choice of Known Online agency

“We had a very good approach in the first meetings with the commercial team and fundamentally we chose this agency because they have an office in Uruguay and they know the Uruguayan market. We chose this agency because they have an office in Uruguay and they know the Uruguayan market. For us it was very important because the company’s head office is in Uruguay, so it was a point in our favor to finalize our decision”, explained Ariel Crupnik.

How was the process of exiting Full Commerce

The Commercial Manager recalled how the process of exiting Full Commerce went: We are very pleased with the way Full Commerce has been going.Like any process of change, it was a very challenging process in which coming from a more mature company with a more mature commercialization, finding a lot of concerns and challenges regarding digitalization and facing it from our office, generated a huge challenge and a year of micro and macro decisions. We discovered ourselves as an organization through this process. Obviously, since we did not have such a clear knowledge of the situation in general, we changed our path several times until we reached the migration, which went very well”.

No breakage in platform migration, the big milestone

Regarding the results of Full Commerce’s exit, Ariel Crupnik said that they were very positive: .

The migration was super positive because when we said we were leaving the old platform and starting with the new one, there was a delay of only 48 hours, and that is super healthy for the migration. It was a milestone because, for example, in Levis Regional they went through the same process, (even in a lighter process because they went from VTEX Legacy to VTEX IO) and it took them 5 to 6 days to get the platform up and running. We went from a Magento platform that we didn’t even manage ourselves to managing the platform directly and the great success was not having delays in turning off one platform and turning on the other. It was a very important milestone, we did not have a break in the commercialization of the platform, we never lost it..
