With traditional commerce restricted by the pandemic, online stores quickly gained ground. It became a perfect scenario for creative entrepreneurs to see in this instance a real opportunity for the development of new businesses. In this context, Ecommerce platforms such as VTEX have managed to make their enterprise developments much more comprehensive, efficient and secure, reducing not only implementation times, but also facilitating its usability. An example of this is VTEX IO, the future of E-commerce.
What is VTEX IO?
VTEX IO is a development platform designed to create scalable and ready-to-run web applications, without having to worry about the complexity of the infrastructure. It is what every retailer is looking for to implement an E-commerce channel.
Its framework consists of four major features:
- Works in the cloud: It’s the end of the mismatch between local and production environments. No code runs on your computer: the source is synchronized with the cloud, where it is created and deployed in real time.
- No configuration: You no longer need to configure the old-fashioned developer environment. All you need to start creating applications is a lightweight console application and a developer account.
- Workspaces: Instant deployment and rollback of the application with a single command. Allows you to manage different versions of applications and test new features in isolation, with the peace of mind needed to experiment and evolve quickly.
- Serverless: The infrastructure is designed to scale the code according to the traffic. CDN distribution and SmartCacheⓇ system ensure high throughput and low latency.
Store development on VTEX IO for NotCo
The Not Company (NotCo) is a Chilean startup that uses artificial intelligence for foods such as ice cream, dressings or meats with traditional tastes, but without animal components. It caught the attention of Jeff Bezos, the owner of Amazon, who invested in it with his fund and obtained an investment of 85 million dollars to expand to the United States, an unexpected success in the midst of the pandemic.
The startup has been leading advanced foodtech in Latin America for four years, a process that, with the application of technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence, is transforming the way food is produced. The company already sells in Chile, Brazil and the United States, and Argentina and with 125 employees, plans to expand to Colombia and Mexico, in the midst of the global boom experienced by the tech food market. Interest has skyrocketed as more consumers prefer to reduce their consumption of meat and other animal products, motivated by environmental or health reasons.
Founded by three young entrepreneurs -Matías Muchnick (CEO), Karim Pichara (CTO) and Pablo Zamora (CSO)-, the company uses an algorithm called “Giuseppe” to prepare food by replacing animal ingredients with vegetables, while maintaining their original flavor. For example, its first success in the market was NotMayo, a mayonnaise prepared from chickpeas that is free of cholesterol, gluten, eggs and soy. In addition to Not Mayo, the company launched in Chile its revolutionary Not Milk, Not Ice Cream and Not Burgers developed by the company’s Artificial Intelligence technology. Under its slogan “Why Not?”, they seek to change the way food is made, maintaining the texture, aroma, functionality and flavor through 100% natural products.
